Put your English language writing skills to work at this Tel Aviv based non profit focused on serving disadvantaged youth and neighbourhood development.  This organization seeks experienced marketers, writers, outreach experts to work with their staff team on annual report development, public relations and marketing materials.  Materials are used by donors, funders and general marketing to English speakers outside of Israel.   The organization can use additional expertise in developing its press and contact distribution networks and English writing of general publicity materials.  A commitment of one month is required and this position would require 6-10 hours per week of volunteer time.

Jewish-Arab Circus – Galilee

If you have drama or music skills, your skills can be put to use with this unique program that aims to bring the two communities together by teaching friendship and cooperation through the performing arts.  Volunteers are needed in the area of drama, theatre and production design.  Volunteer commitments vary from  a week to extended periods depending upon the specific skill set of the volunteer.  Greatest areas of need are in the area of drama and theatre production design to help the Circus staff build a proper show out of the children’s skills.  For longer term volunteers, helping to create a band and working on stage craft would also be helpful.

Work with a dynamic group of social entrepreneurs involved in social justice initiatives tied to Jewish values.  This organization is looking for volunteers with experience in public relations targeted to the English speaking Jewish world to attract donors and raise awareness of the organization’s work.  Developing public relations strategies as well as writing of English language marketing and outreach materials such as brochures and articles is needed.  Expertise in social media and marketing needed.  A time commitment of one month is required, working 10-15 hours/week.  Specific project will be designed based on the volunteer’s skills and needs at the time of application.

English Language Tutors and Instructors – Tel Aviv

An organization serving African refugees seeks English language instructors able to teach small groups in English language reading, writing and speaking.  A commitment of a minimum of 2 months is required and the position requires the volunteer to teach 1-2 evenings per week.  In addition, opportunities exist for individual English tutors interested in working one on one 2 hours per week per individual tutoree at a time mutually convenient for tutor and student.

Education Center Site Manager – Tel Aviv

An organization that serves African refugees is seeking a site manager for its Education Centers.  Responsibilities include overseeing all education center activities; registering and answering questions from new students and coordinating a team of volunteer teachers and tutors.  Each site manager must be available for two – three evenings per week from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm

This position requires a commitment of no less than two months.  Site managers must be able to communicate effectively and interact positively with refugees and volunteers from diverse backgrounds, cultures and languages.  Strong organizational and managerial skills are needed.  English is required and knowledge of Hebrew, Arabic and French is helpful.
